About 1003 Queen Street E — Lofts on Queen
Located in Leslieville & South Riverdale, in east end Toronto, prospective homeowners should definitely consider 1003 Queen Street East. This location’s vibrancy and charm is unique, and as such the Kartelle Corporation carefully developed this boutique condo, the Lofts on Queen, to complement this area’s distinctive character.
Completed in 2016, Kartelle’s in house team of architects gave the Lofts on Queen a sophisticated design that integrates well into its neighbourhood. The modular structure stands at 4-storeys and is enveloped in a dark, deep grey exterior. Although the style is resoundingly modern, Kartelle’s choice of a brick façade at street-level treats the neighbourhood’s architectural history with respect.
Conversely, the rooftop terrace is unique in the area. Shared by 1003 Queen East’s exclusive residents, this expansive common area is stylishly appointed and provides fantastic views of the city: the picturesque scene includes Lake Ontario in the horizon, with Leslieville and Riverdale’s mature trees in the foreground.
Since this boutique building houses an exclusive number of homes, the amenities are neither extensive nor expensive. Rather, while residents of the Lofts on Queen can enjoy its fitness facilities, the neighbourhood offers them everything else they might need or want.
The Suites
At 1003 Queen East there are just 10 suites, as Kartelle sought to keep their quality exceptional. Their sizes span about 550 to 1,150 square feet, and homes here include studios and one or two bedroom units with the option of a den as well.
Regardless of their actual size, Toronto condos for sale in this building feel expansive, especially thanks to 10-foot ceiling heights and floor to ceiling windows that bring in an abundance of natural light.
The Lofts on Queen’s elegant exterior colour scheme continues inside the suites. The engineered hardwood floors are sophisticatedly stained a chic grey. The cabinetry in the bathrooms and kitchens are well curated, coming in either black, white or grey, allowing a modern aesthetic to resonate throughout the suites.
Lastly, every kitchen is chef ready. These culinary spaces all feature top-of-the-line integrate stainless steel appliances. Additionally, for those home-chefs who often serve many friends and family, most kitchens include generously-sized islands with breakfast bars.
The Neighbourhood
Kartelle may have been attracted to Leslieville after working on the Filmport Studios, which often films in the neighbourhood’s charming streets. Who can blame them, since the area is lined with quaint independent boutiques, local restaurants, cafes and plenty of lucious foliage. Those living at 1003 Queen East will find that they discover a new charming spot whenever they take a stroll.
Alternatively, the Lofts on Queen are close to the Greek Town, which is found on the Danforth. This well-established community hosts perhaps the biggest food festival in the city, the Taste of the Danforth, every summer — though residents will be close enough to justify eating at one of its many delicious grills and gyro spots throughout the year.
Nonetheless, one can’t eat out every night, so it’s a bonus that when residents of the Lofts on Queen need to grab groceries there are many convenient options. Greektown has a diversity of local markets, while, conversely, there’s a large Loblaws in Leslieville on Leslie Street. When essentials run low, a Shoppers is conveniently a short walk away as well, at Queen East and Carlaw.
Transportation
Those living at 1003 Queen East can get around the city quite easily. If they drive, the traffic in area moves well, and one can easily access the highway by using the Don Roadway onramp via Lakeshore Boulevard East, often taking all of about five minutes.
The Don on-ramp is quite convenient, as it gives drivers the option to connect to either the Don Valley Parkway, in order to head north or south through the city, and the Gardiner Expressway to venture west through the core.
For those who prefer public transit, residents are also well positioned. The 501 Queen Streetcar happens to stop right in front of the Lofts on Queen at Pape Street. This route takes riders to the downtown core in no time, passing the Distillery District and St. Lawrence Market area on the way.
Alternatively, the 72 bus can take riders between Pape Station on the Bloor-Danforth Line and Union Station. This route serves the residents well, especially when they need to get around the Riverdale and Leslieville neighbourhoods, and others along on the central east side of the waterfront, like the St. Lawrence and the Distillery District.
