Fort York Boulevard has developed beautifully, and not just because of its location close to Lake Ontario, but also thanks to recently built residences like those at 50 Bruyeres Mews. Developed by the Omni Group, who have brought their buildings to many major North American metropolises, the Local at Fort York Condos is an expertly executed community of homes nestled west of Bathurst Street and north of Lakeshore Boulevard West.Completed in 2016, 50 Bruyeres Mews stands at a humble 15-storeys tall. The much-acclaimed Page + Steele / IBI Group Architects oversaw its design, along with careful consultations with the developers to ensure the complex would become a vibrant part of the community.The building features a striking glass exterior, whose contemporary aesthetic stands atop a charming brick base. Vast window-clad walls and long sets of private, glass-walled balconies make up most of 50 Bruyeres&rsquo; exterior, with brick accents offering a touch of contrast and a sense of warmth.The Local at Fort York is indeed welcoming: residents come home to sophisticated lobby each day, cared for by an executive concierge. Those living at 50 Bruyeres also have access to an alluring collection of amenities, set inside a shared space called the Local Lounge.When one wants to work out without going outside, that&rsquo;s no problem at all: residents can simply head over to the state-of-the-art fitness facilities found within. Love the location (close to Loblaws, LCBO and transit.) Building’s clean, staff is great but amenities are basic. Some minor security issues but overall I'd say I'm pretty happy living here.
